I have tried so many different workouts! You name it, I have tried it: cardio bootcamp with an army-like bootcamp set-up, boxing, spinning, hot yoga, pilates…everything. As I mentioned in my Meet A Mom post, we lived in New York for about ten years and that city offers such a variety of workouts. I love to push myself to new limits and try new things, especially with physical activity. Which is why when I tried Shred 4|15 I was so excited!
One of my top recommendations to women (especially moms) for self-care is to be active! It is imperative to find time to fit a workout in. Even if that just means 30-minutes. What would be even better though? If you didn’t have to worry about childcare and could fit in a 60-minute workout class midweek, while your kids were being tended to. Enter Shred 4|15! If you haven’t tried this workout yet, you need to! It’s a mix of cardio and strength training where the 60-minutes fly by. They break each class down into four 15-minute increments (which oddly makes you feel more accomplished and less burnt out) and it’s actually fun!
I have been to several of the Shred instructors now and haven’t met one that I didn’t like. They are all compassionate, friendly, energetic and encouraging. And don’t worry…it doesn’t matter if you’re a novice when it comes to working out or an expert that fits in 5 to 7 workouts during the week. You can push yourself at levels that are comfortable for you, all while building your strength and endurance.
There is also a sense of community at the Highlands Ranch studio. They learn to know you quickly by name and even encourage you personally in class. Oh, and, as mentioned, they have onsite childcare. What could be better? If you bring your kids with you, they have a small room where the kids can play and are supervised (and safe) the entire time during class.
No excuses! Try out Shred for yourself and bring the kids with you! They will have just as much fun as you. 🙂
