Briefly introduce yourself!
Hi! I am Rebecca, mother of two & owner of the new children & baby shop- Lilly & Raye. I love sunny days, red wine & a perfect worn in pair of jeans. I love to travel & try new food. I want to be vegan… I’m trying!

How many children do you have and what are their age(s)?
I have 2 kids, Johnny 7 and Lilly 4.

Where do you live in South Denver exactly? If not South Denver, where?
I live in Olde Town Arvada. My shop is closer to South Denver: Colfax & York

What’s your favorite family friendly activity in South Denver?
Love an afternoon at Joy Park in the Children’s Museum!

What’s your favorite kid friendly restaurant in South Denver?
We love Steubens ( especially the ice cream floats! ) and we love the bento box options at Kona Grill in Cherry Creek Mall! And the kids love to watch the fish too : ). Homegrown Tap & Dough is our favorite family restaurant in Arvada..they have a game room with all free video games!

What’s your favorite date night restaurant in Denver (not just South Denver)?
I have several! Sushi Den is always at the top of my list. I love sitting at the bar for oysters at the Blue Island Oyster Bar in Cherry Creek. Arvada Tavern is cozy and dark and romantic…perfect in fall / winter.

What’s the best mom and/or parenting advice you’ve received?
That EVERY child is different and you know your kid best…so always follow your gut!

What inspires you?
So many friends & family have inspired me and still do, everyday. Starting off with my parents, of course. Genuine, honest, happy, kind, hard working people living their dreams are my inspiration!

You own Lilly and Raye. Tell us more! Where did the name come from?
I grew up in the fashion and retail industries, it’s in my blood and I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else. My Nana had an upscale women’s dress shop that I lived above when I was little. My Mom has owned boutiques most of my life. I went on to work for URBN Inc / Free People after college as a buyer & web merchandiser… then after becoming a mother, I found my passion for children’s clothes. I named Lilly & Raye after my children, my little inspirations… Johnny Raye & Lilly Austyn

What inspired you to start Lilly & Raye?
I found myself becoming obsessed with baby & kids clothes when mine were babies…. I would sit at my computer for hours at nap times looking up brands and boutiques. Curating a collection just seemed completely natural for me. I also really began to research and care alot about where, how and with what materials the clothes were made

What do you do for self-care?
I love a good spa day!

What is your best mom hack?
Oh wow… this is a tough one! I don’t know if I have mom hacks?! I add spinach to all smoothies!

Is there anything else about you and/or your business you want to highlight?
I focus on ethical production & social good. I really try to curate brands that make a difference either by donating to a great cause or by using organic fabrics and sustainable practices. I want to help make a difference while giving Denver moms a modern, cool and meaningful place to shop.
